Fitness Professional  and Entrepreneur Rachel Holmes was stuck for childcare to enable her to get to the gym after having her son so she posted on social media to ask if any interested parents would like  meet her for a workout in a local park with the pushchair.

“After having my son the days started flying past and I was struggling to  find the time get to the gym when I wasn’t working” Says Rachel

“Getting baby, loading up the car, driving to the gym, doing the workout and then driving back was just taking up too much time”

“ We had joined lots of baby groups which are all for him  so I posted on social media to see if other parents locally would meet up and I would do a workout with baby in the pushchair for quickness and ease”

Rachel was taken aback by the response with over 90 messages within 20 minutes of posting. Her post was shared multiple times and Rachel found it was not just new mums  getting in touch.

“Nannas, Grandads, stay at home dads, brothers, sisters, childminderss all messaged me to see if they could attend  as they are looking after a little one in the daytime, so I said yes of course everyone can come”

And Buggy Beat was born – an outdoor cross training class for all parents and guardians.

Rachel has been creating fitness programmes and brands for over 30 years. She has created group exercise programmes for Virgin Active, Fitness First, Nike and travelled all over the world speaking and educator Instructors.

“After the first session Fitpros began contacting me wanting to teach “Buggy Beat” so I created a training course and within 2 weeks we have 40 Buggy Beat Instructors from Aberdeen to the South Coast who have launched Buggy Beat locally”

“Its been the fastest growing programme I have ever created with new Instructors joining every day and the take up for the classes has been phenomenal,”  Says Rachel
