Why is post natal exercise so important?
Post-natal exercise is important for a number of reasons:
👟Regaining strength and fitness: Childbirth can take a toll on a woman’s body, and exercise can help rebuild strength, tone muscles, and increase cardiovascular fitness.
👟Improving mood: Exercise has been shown to boost endorphins and reduce symptoms of depression and anxiety, which are common in the post-partum period.
👟Promoting weight loss: Exercise can help women return to their pre-pregnancy weight and maintain a healthy weight in the long term.
👟Improving sleep: Regular exercise can help improve sleep patterns, which can be disrupted after childbirth.
👟Supporting pelvic floor recovery: After childbirth, the pelvic floor muscles can become weakened and prone to injury. Exercise can help improve the strength and function of these muscles, reducing the risk of incontinence and other pelvic floor disorders.
👟Bonding with baby: Post-natal exercise can also provide a great opportunity for bonding with your baby, whether through babywearing workouts or post-partum exercise classes specifically designed for new mothers.
It’s important to remember that every woman’s post-partum recovery is different, and it’s important to listen to your body and consult with a healthcare professional before starting any exercise program.
