Kid Friendly Juices From Buggy Beat

Do you have a fussy eater that won’t eat their greens?

Juicing is a great way to get goodness into your child’s diet… try these simple recipes:

  • Apple Lemonade – 2 apples, 1/2 small lemon
  • ABC Juice – 1 apple, 2 carrot, 50g beetroot
  • Kale & Pineapple – 200g kale, 1 large slice pineapple
  • Carrot & Orange – 2 carrot, 1 orange

Wash the fruit and veg. Cut into pieces if necessary. Juice. Chill and serve over ice.

The juices can be saved for up to 48 hours.

Here are some of my tips for introducing kids to juicing:

1. Get them involved in the process. Bring them to the supermarket or your local fruit and veg shop and get them excited about choosing your produce together.

2. Start with more fruit than veg juice. It will take their taste buds a little while to adjust.

3. Add water to the juices if necessary.

4. Fresh juice tastes best cold so be sure to chill it before you offer it to them.

5. Use pretty glasses and colourful straws to make the juice appear more enticing to little eyes.

Enjoy!
